As a yoga teacher, I absolutely love using essential oils in my classes. Either in a diffuser during class, or as a nice treat during savasana.

Aside from teaching, using these delicious products at home and simply sharing them with family & friends too,  has brought great joy! So when I was recently introduced to dōTERRA, teaming up was a no-brainer! So many scents, so many blends, so many beautiful ways to enhance not just your senses but your overall health and well-being, I couldn’t wait to learn more and share this with those I love and care for!

As I experiment with and experience these lovely scents and countless uses I thought, why not share my findings along the way! Introducing the ‘Oil obsession of the month’ where I share with you my current, well, obsession. My favorite oil or blend at the moment and the ways I enjoy using them!

So, without further ado, this month’s obsession!


Mood Management Blend: Serenity


Ah, Serenity! The first time I was introduced to this scent it was love at first smell! It was the first blend of the Mood Management Collection I had tried and I was sold.

This blend is such a beautiful combination of ingredients! Though it’s a very soothing and relaxing blend, it does have some sort of sensual feel to it. The benefits are instantaneous! Sending a soothing feeling through the body while calming down the nerves and relieving any and all tension, both mentally and physically!

What’s in it:

Lavender Flower, Cedarwood, Ho Wood Leaf, Ylang Ylang Flower, Marjoram Leaf, Roman Chamomile Flower, Vetiver Root, Vanilla Bean Absolute, Hawaiian Sandalwood Wood

All dōTERRA oils are CPTG – Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade. What does this mean? Basically that for every liter, not just dōTERRA, but a third party lab checks for toxins, fillers, pesticides and any other stuff you definitely wouldn’t want in there! Ensuring that all oils are of the highest, purest, most beautiful quality!

How I use it:

I absolutely love using this blend topically as well as in my diffuser!

  • Applying one drop behind the ears and on the wrists to keep that serene feel all day. It smells so great, you can use it instead of perfume!
  • Applying a small amount to the temples and rubbing it in your hands before a Yin Yog practice.
  • Adding some drops to my diffuser in the evening, or during my home yoga practice, winding down and filling up space with bliss and, well, Serenity!

If you have sensitive skin then using a carrier oil such as fractionated coconut oil is a great option!
