When it comes to fueling the body properly, it’s no longer a secret that certain foods and nutrients are absolutely essential for our health.
As most find themselves increasingly busy in the mornings, skipping breakfast has become the norm. And of course, keeping in mind your individual health and wellness goals, the first thing you choose to fuel your body with, in the morning, well set you up for the rest of the day.
Bring in the protein – one of those nutrients we love to talk about, and with good reason. Protein is an important component of every single cell in our bodies.
Our body uses protein to build and repair tissues, to make hormones, enzymes, and it’s also an importan building block of muscles, skin, blood, bones and cartilage.
Together with fat and carbs, protein is a ‘macronutrient’. This means our body needs large amounts of it. While vitamins and minerals are needed in smaller quantities and known as ‘micronutrients’.
Protein, unlike fat and carbohydrates, is not stored in a reservoir in the body, which is why making sure we effectively fuel the body with enough protein is essential.
As a health and fitness enthusiast, I love me a good loaded protein shake. And like many, saving time in the morning – while still tending to my health and wellness – is something I strive to maintain.
So I share with you, my quick and easy, filling, fueling, morning protein routine options:
#1 Energy boost |
- 150ml cold filtered coffee,
- 150ml water,
- 1 medium-sized banana,
- 1 scoop whey isolate vanilla protein powder,
- 16gr peanut butter,
- 2tsp brain octane oil. (supports brain power, focus, increased energy and fat burning)
- Blend it up and enjoy. MY FAVE.
#2 Filling fuel |
- 300ml water,
- some oats (to taste, depends what you’re in the mood for and how thick you like it to),
- 2tsp brain octane oil.
- 1 scoop whey isolate vanilla protein powder. Blend it up, and enjoy.
